This is a pretty simple grinder, and considering the price, the company behind it, and the ability, I think it’s a great purchase. It’s much less expensive than the Jura Capresso Infinity – which doesn’t necessarily imply it’s a less worthwhile machine, just that it is in ‘a different weight class’ so to speak. It’s more like the standard Capresso burr grinder, while the Infinity has some added features. It still makes incredible burr grinder coffee. Whether you are just starting out in making incredible coffee at home or a seasoned veteran, this grinder makes for an incredible addition to any coffee lab. Here are its specs:
The Skinny
- It has 17 different grind settings.
- It has a removable burr grinding mechanism – this is seriously awesome. The easier a grinder can be taken apart and cleaned, the better the chance that you’ll get years and years of use out of it. So, considering the price of this machine and the likelihood that you’ll be using it for years without a problem – I think it makes an absolutely great purchase for people who are new to making kick ass coffee at home.
- As is pretty typical with electronic grinders, it has an automatic shut off for when it is finished grinding coffee. The merit behind such a feature is pretty obvious: it won’t spin burrs purposelessly while your hands are busy doing something else.
- It can grind for anywhere from 2 to 12 cups of coffee – so if you’re looking to make coffee for a sizeable group of people this machine will do the job.
Overall, I think this in particular is a great entry level grinder for soon to be home baristas, coffee nerds in general, or just someone looking to make really awesome, well extracted coffee in their kitchen.
The Capresso Coffee Grinder is a fabulous piece of technology.
